I learned a lot about my art by doing these, and then letting them rest for a while. Mainly, I am going to start limiting my color palette a lot more and letting more of the paper show through. Sounds a lot like being lazy, but I think it shows more thought and restrain. It's easy to get excited and totally fuck something up. The last one is where I realized I rely to heavily on color, and I am really happy with that one even though it seems the most simple.

Seemingly simple is good. Good things are good.

new things

I am meeting with Heather of Avant Garb here in Tallahassee tomorrow to see if she would like to sell any of my headdresses in her store. I'm pretty stoked! I hope it goes well. Etsy is not getting hardly any traffic and I like the idea that people can try them on.

Here's a bathroom pic of my latest creation, which will be available hopefully (!!!) in Avant Garb as well as on my store, http://www.whimwam.etsy.com

I have really been getting into making the more traditional looking head pieces, like flower girl/pagan ritual style. I think they look best worn close to the hairline, like a crown.

Just some things I touched up to add to the ole post grad portfolio. Dusting off the design skills.

Made from 100% re-used materials. I am selling these little guys at the next First Friday!

Yes, I am turning into a creepier form of your grandma.
